“I’m not setting goals” she said …

Conflict in the Workplace COVID Survey

In conversation with a business associate today, I found it intriguing that when it was her turn to share her goals for 2014 at a business women’s network, she said “I’m not setting goals for 2014 yet, I am spending time appreciating all of my accomplishments of 2013.”

Another business associate emailed me her ‘business plan for 2014’ where her first reporting was over 15 accomplishments for 2013.

It’s become routine for us to set new goals as we see the new year on the horizon, but we often forget to really honor ourselves for the hard work and progress that we have already made.

We’re wrapping everything else up with pretty paper and bows at this time of year, so why don’t we make time to wrap up our year’s accomplishments with a big bow of appreciation, and wrap our heart around the self recognition that will fuel our self worth and esteem for the new year ahead.

Happy heart warming, self appreciating holidays!
