Forming New Habits

How’s the new year going so far?  Are you on track with your plan?

Looking back and ahead at the same time is emotionally exhausting, but an important way to determine what worked, what needs improvement, and how to close the gap between how you spend your time and what is truly important.

Strategic planning is an important task for business and personal wellness.  How can you achieve a target that you don’t even have?  How can you be efficient and productive, if you’re not taking the time to get a bird’s eye view of your situation and circumstances.

I’ve done planning in early January many times.  The most effective tip I can give you from my experience is to form new habits that are aligned with where you want to go.  Even one habit, done consistently and to the best of your ability will have a significant impact.

Last year, I implemented one habit that increased my sales by more than 105% over the previous year.  It was a simple habit, to do one important thing every work day, that took me between 30 and 60 minutes. The habit itself isn’t important to this lesson, but the daily routine, consistency, and staying with it even when I didn’t feel like it or to get back into it when I fell off the pattern is the point I am making here.

What one thing, done consistently and exceptionally well would have a significant positive impact in your upcoming year?  You know what it is. Do that, habitually, and watch what happens.

Life isn’t just about being happy or doing what’s right; it’s best joy is found in a combination of both.

Create your best year ever, and remember, I am here to help if you need a hand.
