Social Media for your Business

Conflict in the Workplace COVID Survey

Let me introduce you to some of the latest trends in online marketing for your business. An online encyclopedia, (Wikipedia) defines Social media as “online content created by people using highly accessible and scalable publishing technologies.”

There are many options, those of you who have teenagers have witnessed them using 4 that I mention below. They are handy business tools as well as convenient socializing tools.

But why bother? Your business can gain substantial exposure, links back to your website and top search engine rankings for your efforts. You probably have heard of SEO (search engine optimization) to drive traffic to your website, but the algorithms of major search engines are constantly changing, and social media is helping websites gain excellent rankings. Here are a few options:

First, you need to have an effective website. An active face book group page is ideal for businesses. This page can include your business logo, professional bio or services that you offer, special events, photo albums and can be cross linked to your website. At least once a week, post an update to your Facebook group page. It can be an educational piece that would benefit your customers. The key is not to forget about the Facebook account. Its purpose is to feed people a regular small dose of valuable information.

You can take it further, with a twitter account to micro-blog about your product or service. See my recent article Twitter – Short and Tweet. A popular option is a professional blog of your own where you can share content, photos and convey a genuine interest and concern for your customers and their needs.

Social networking is almost free, it’s very powerful and it does require a constant commitment of updates.  The more exposure and buzz you create, the more benefits to your business. You do have options, you can delegate it to a staff member and make it a weekly task on their job description, or you can outsource it. Regardless of your option, your regular posts and updates need to be professional as they do represent your corporate culture. The small expense of these technologies can leverage your website to work better for you.

What is a new customer (or 10) worth to you each week?  Our web and office consulting company can help you. I invite you to call me for a free consultation.

Best wishes for continued success,
