Family Conflict Resolution & Relationship Restoration – Penny Tremblay
Bringing The Sandbox System® to Family Relationships

Your Family Deserves to Find Its Way Through This

You love your family. But right now, the same conversations keep ending badly, tension is affecting everything — decisions, gatherings, maybe even your business — and nobody knows how to break the pattern. You don't need someone to take sides. You need a neutral guide who can help your family talk through what really needs to be said.

Does This Sound Familiar?
You've tried to resolve it on your own — and it hasn't worked
  • Every conversation ends in conflict, silence, or avoidance
  • Important decisions are stuck because of unresolved tension
  • Relationships are strained — or have stopped altogether
  • Your family business is suffering because of personal conflict
  • You want someone neutral — not another family member — in the room
The Real Problem

The Conflict Itself Isn't the Hardest Part

The hardest part is feeling like you've tried everything — and nothing changes. Families in conflict don't just suffer the external tension. They carry the weight of it privately: the dread before family events, the guilt, the grief over what the relationship used to be, and the quiet fear that it may never get better. No family should have to carry that alone.

Adult Siblings in Conflict

You grew up in the same house. Now the same conversations end in silence, resentment, or arguments that leave everyone worse off than before they started.

Parent & Adult Child Relationships

The dynamic has never really shifted. Roles, expectations, and old wounds keep pulling the relationship back into patterns neither of you wants — but neither knows how to change.

Family Business Conflict

Business decisions become personal. Personal hurt affects the business. The people you work with are the people you love — and right now, that feels like the problem, not the advantage.

Caregiving & Elder Care Disputes

Decisions about aging parents have exposed fault lines in the family that were already there. Now siblings who were once close are barely speaking — at the worst possible time.

Multigenerational Tension

Different values, communication styles, and visions for the future. The gap has grown so wide that real conversation feels impossible — and every attempt makes things worse.

Succession & Inheritance

The conversations that need to happen keep getting delayed because the relationship tension makes them feel too risky. But delay has its own cost — and it compounds every year.

What's at Stake

Waiting Doesn't Make Family Conflict Smaller

Most families wait years before asking for help. By then, patterns are deeply entrenched, trust has eroded further, and the conversations feel even harder than they did at the start. The cost of staying stuck keeps growing.

Close relationships become distant — or end entirely
Critical decisions about estates, care, and business succession stay frozen
Family gatherings become something to dread rather than enjoy
Children and grandchildren absorb the tension and carry it into the next generation
A family business loses focus, talent, and momentum to unresolved personal conflict
Unaddressed conflict eventually finds its way to lawyers — at far greater cost

You can't build a castle on quicksand. The same applies to families — the longer conflict sits unaddressed beneath the surface, the more it undermines everything that has been built on top of it.

How Penny Can Help

There Is a Way Through This — and It Starts with the Right Conversation

Penny doesn't take sides. She creates a structured, safe space where every voice in the room gets heard — and guides your family toward something more workable, whatever that honestly looks like for you.

Core Service

Family Conflict Resolution & Relationship Restoration

For families carrying ongoing tension, broken communication, or relational strain. Penny facilitates the conversations that keep getting avoided — so your family can address what's actually happening, rebuild understanding, and find a healthier way forward. Full reconciliation is not required. A workable path forward is always the goal.

Flagship Specialty

Family Business Conflict & Succession Conversations

For family-owned businesses where personal conflict is disrupting leadership, operations, or succession. When the people you work with are the people you love, the stakes are higher on both sides. Penny bridges that gap — and can work alongside your lawyers, accountants, and advisors as part of a broader succession plan.

Additional Area

Adult-Family & Caregiving Conflict

For families navigating elder care disputes, parent–adult child dynamics, and multigenerational tension — where emotions run high and nobody feels heard. Penny brings sensitivity, structure, and genuine care to some of the most complex conversations families face.

Honest About Scope

What Penny Does Not Do

Clarity about what this service is — and isn't — protects you and ensures you receive the right support for your situation. Penny will always be upfront about fit.

  • Legal advice or family-law mediation
  • Custody, parenting plans, or property determinations
  • Therapy, counselling, or clinical mental health services
  • Situations involving coercion, abuse, or domestic violence
  • Forced or pressured reconciliation of any kind
If your situation falls outside this scope, Penny will tell you — and connect you with the right support through her professional referral network of family lawyers, therapists, social workers, and specialized mediators.
Getting Started Is Simpler Than You Think

Three Steps to a Clearer Path Forward

You don't need to know exactly what you want to achieve before you reach out. You just need to take one step. Penny handles the rest.

1

Book a Confidential Consultation

A private conversation with Penny — no commitment, no pressure. She listens to your situation, explains what the process looks like, and helps you understand whether this is the right support for your family.

2

Penny Facilitates the Conversations

In structured, safe sessions, Penny gives every participant a genuine chance to be heard. The goal is never to declare a winner — it's to help your family say what needs to be said and find common ground.

3

Your Family Moves Forward

You leave with clearer communication, documented agreements where needed, and practical tools to maintain what's been built — and referrals to additional support where the situation calls for it.

Removing Every Barrier

Still Not Sure? These Answers Might Help.

The families who benefit most from this work are often the most hesitant to reach out. If something is holding you back, chances are the answer is here.

Your Safety Comes First

Every intake conversation includes careful screening. Participation is always voluntary. If a situation involves coercion, abuse, or a significant power imbalance, Penny will not proceed — and will connect you with the right support instead.

Is this the same as family therapy or counselling?
No. This is conflict facilitation, not therapy. Penny does not diagnose, treat, or provide clinical mental health services. The focus is on improving communication, reducing conflict, and reaching workable agreements. If therapeutic support would help your situation, Penny will be upfront about that and refer you accordingly.
What if not everyone in the family wants to participate?
Participation must always be voluntary — that is non-negotiable. If some family members are not ready or willing to participate, Penny can still work with those who are. Sometimes beginning with a subset of the family creates the conditions for others to join later. The intake process helps you navigate this carefully.
Is what we discuss kept confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is foundational to this work and is addressed explicitly in the informed-consent process before sessions begin. The limits of confidentiality — including situations involving safety — are explained clearly upfront, so every participant understands exactly how their information is protected.
Does reconciliation have to be the goal?
Not at all. Reconciliation — restored closeness — is one possible outcome, but it is never forced or assumed. Some families need clearer boundaries and structured communication rather than a restored relationship. The goal of this process is a safer, clearer, more workable path forward — whatever that honestly looks like for your family.
Can this help with family business succession planning?
Yes — and this is one of the most impactful applications of this service. Succession conversations are often stalled by underlying relationship conflict. Penny can facilitate the conversations that need to happen before legal and financial planning can move forward effectively, and can work alongside your accountants, lawyers, and business advisors as part of a broader succession team.
How is this different from going to a lawyer?
Lawyers address legal rights and obligations — which is essential in many family situations. This service addresses the relational and communication dimensions of family conflict that legal processes often leave unresolved, and sometimes make worse. In many cases, this work is most valuable when done alongside or before legal proceedings — not instead of them.
Imagine What's Possible

Picture Your Family on the Other Side of This

Imagine gathering for the holidays without dreading it. Making important decisions together — clearly, without the weight of unspoken tension. Having a conversation that actually ends differently. A family business that runs on shared purpose instead of unresolved hurt.

That is what families who do this work describe on the other side of it. Not perfection. Not the erasure of everything that happened. But a real, workable, more peaceful way forward.

That future is available to your family. The first step is one conversation.
