Step 4 to PLAY NICE is Y – Your Why

Step 4 is Your WHY with Penny Tremblay
Here’s Step #4 in the Roadmap Through Workplace Conflict to Collaboration

So you have a dilemma.  An issue.  A conflict…and you might be wondering if confronting it head on is worth the energy?  If it keeps you up at night, rents space in your head, or percolates inside you like an old pot of coffee, then yes!

Decide whether you’re going to address the issue or let it go. Is it a big deal?  Can you let it go?  Should you let it go?  You may want to think about it from the professional standards or ethical framework of your profession.  Is it against the integrity of who we are and what we stand for?

You’ll know you need to tap into your WHY power when you feel discomfort…learn how in this video:

Perhaps it’s the discomfort of change, or dealing with things that you’ve been putting off, or setting boundaries for yourself, or saying no.  Maybe it’s the discomfort of unpacking what you see in your suitcase or deciding to have that challenging conversation to resolve some conflict.

All of these examples have one thing in common …. They’re uncomfortable, and to reach a resolve, you’ll need self-motivation to move out of your comfort zone, through the internal or external conflict, and into something better. So tap in to YOUR WHY.

Why power’ is way stronger than will power and leveraging it can create a sense of obligation to speak up.

Hey … You’re halfway through the Roadmap of Workplace Conflict to cooperation and collaboration. But there are 4 more tips, so download the complete roadmap to move through conflict toward improved cooperation and collaboration in your workplace.
