Tip #6 – Remind People About Your Workplace Conflict Resolution Process

Remind people about your workplace conflict resolution process. Create one if necessary. Ensure your managers have a clear understanding of the conflict resolution process, so they can inform front-line workers.

Wouldn’t it be nice if people could just get their “shift” together and play nice? It’s possible, but because of the high emotions involved in conflict, resolution is a skill that many don’t have training or practice with, or if they do, their abilities become clouded with the fog of their emotions. A clear policy can help people understand the steps, and a well-trained manager can guide the process of authentic conversation between employees in conflict.

All ten recommendations can be found in our research report about the Effects of COVID on Workplace Conflict or in this video for HR Managers.
